What should I know before taking Proguanil
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Proguanil or to any other medicines such as:
  • biguanides
Before taking Proguanil, tell your health care provider about any other medicines you take or if you have any of the following disorders:
  • renal and / or hepatic insufficiency

Side effects of Proguanil

Proguanil may cause the following side effects:
  • gastrointestinal tract: aphthous stomatitis, upset stomach
  • nephrotoxicity - irritation of the kidneys, hematuria
If you experience any side effect that last long or becomes bothersome, please inform your doctor as dose adjustment or treatment discontinuation may be required.

Which are Proguanil overdose symptoms
 
If you overdose Proguanil, seek immediate medical attention. Overdose symptoms include: bloody urine, abdominal pain, vomiting, painful urination, lower back ache
